Nothing wrong with my 3.5SE (kock-on-wood) but I'm getting an itch to upgrade and the Toyota Highlander (Limited, V6, AWD) caught my attention.

The test drive was somewhat disappointing, needed more from the V6 and the Sequential Shifting was a PITA it doesn't shift back to 1 when you come to complete stop. It got worst with numbers, the dealership came back with $8,500 (CAN). I was told because it's the 106k/km and that I got side swiped (repainted).

I couldn't believe I got more for my '02 Acura RSX Premium, over $10k from Nissan.

It cost about $8k less.
Two years older and had more KM with over 180k.
Bigger accident, again not-at-fault.

So I thought can it just be Toyota, would Nissan give me more. They didn't have the 370Z available but they said roughly $9k.

I would say you got a crappy toyota salesman/woman and they thought you would fold. I owned a 00' Tacoma TRD, TWO 99' 4Runners both LTD, and a 96' Avalon XLS back in the early 2000's. They were all great. Never had not 1 major mechanical issue, every one made it over 200k before i sold them. Went to the toyota dealership to buy a 1year new Camry. Got some major BS and walked out. They called me every couple of days, for a month after. I went to a normal used car lot and got the same car to spite the dealer. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I was never happy with my camry.....So I got my 1st 350z.....and I was hooked.....But no seatbetls in the back for the kid...hell, no seat at all...And now I am in love with my Altima Coupe.....but looking at the pics of the 390z......makes me want to cheat on my love.....

I guess it depends on what options you have. Mine is a fully loaded 2008 3.5SE and its got a trade in value of 16,000 USD. CAD and USD are very very close. Also, I have no accidents. But keep in mind modifications will also bring down the value at a dealership. Your Eibach, strut and sway bar bring down value in the eyes of a dealership.

Slate makes an excellent point. Before the 350z all my mods were Audio/video. A dealership will charge you for all new headrests and new radio and even new dash, and rip out all your monitors and gear and give them away to there mechanics. TAKE ALL YOUR STUFF WITH YOU. Better to get more back from the dealer AND let us Nico nuts have 1st crack at your goodies....that did't sound right...

Sell privately. You will get more money. A trade with the dealer is always a low-ball.

BTW, good to see you still kicking around here :mike

I try, it's hard to stay when there's no interest. Toronto only had two meets.

Except for NAV, it's fully loaded. Like I said my Acura was worst and also modified but I still got a higher offer.

I think I want an SUV, so I will see how much Mercedes will give me.
