What are these weird L shaped stickers on the rear doors? 08 versa

they are there to prevent rock chips

I didn't try to take them off, I did. But only because they were poorly applied to our Versa, to the point that they were letting dirt get trapped underneath them in spots. This was especially egregious on the fresh-powder paint job on our Versa. I decided I'd rather risk a few chips than have dirty stickers down there, and two years later, we still don't have a single paint chip in that portion that the sticker protected.

Some G's have them too. Hell with the cheap paint Infiniti/Nissan uses.. the whole car should be protected with this stuff. Lots of guys are looking at the avenue of the "clear bra"

If you think we have it bad visit a subaru or suzuki forum. They are much worse. My versa sedan doesn't have these clear stickers you guys are talking about.

My G had them. Completely pointless and difficult to remove. Dirt gets trapped in them and it looks awful. I assume it's the same on the Versa.

My red G20 has white polkadots on it after 217k miles but where there isn't chips the car still looks cherry. I will take the chips over peeling clear coat and paint that can scratch off with your finger like I was reading on clubsx4.com. Reason I was on there is because I was going to get one of those before I decided on my 1.6. They only had a 10 gallon tank and got less then 30mpg . Not a good combo for someone who drives as much as I do.

Okay people, I just spent the last 15 minutes intimately caressing the lower door panels of my Versa. There are definitely NO stickers on there anywhere. My theories regarding this thread are the following:

1) You are all liars.

2) My Versa was abducted by aliens and they removed the stickers.

3) The Nissan techs at my local dealership removed them during the PDI for some reason.

4) Considering that neither me nor robj80 have them, I would say that the '09s don't.

5) There really is no Nico forum, only my mind, and that I am imagining all of this.

4)I have a black 6sp MT 07... and I actually think its just a black sticker that matches my paint. and YES tons of dirt gets stuck around it.

Ive thought of peeling it off but im scared the paint will come off tooo!! I was thinking of taking a HAIRDRYER to it. YEAH!

Oh gosh, that would have been awful! As it was, I was washing the car and getting really aggravated at the dirt trapped underneath, so I just started to peel at it until I had enough to really grab on and pull it off. I was crouched down and nearly did a reverse somersault into the yard when it finally gave (I made sure I had better balance for the other side).

If I had known about the possibility of yanking paint off with them, I probably wouldn't have been so brave. That really never crossed my mind, but this wasn't terribly long after we had bought the car, either, so I guess it seemed as if they hadn't welded themselves on with time (and the dirt underneath was another good sign at the lack of adhesion).

If Nissan is going to apply these to places they suspect premature paint wear, why not just coat the front bumper and the front slope of the hood with an equivalent of 3M's clear nose mask? I like the idea, but when they obviously don't get them stuck on very well, the whole "invisible" concept goes to pot.

I don't think that my Versa has them. I have never noticed any stickers. Is this on the outside of the door or on the inside? I have never noticed any type of stickers on the rear doors.

And I have a 2008 Versa. No stickers.
