Oh, I was agreeing with your post! It was good to see that you are safe too.

A good deal!

I got my low-profile, 4-ton, hydraulic lift from Costco for $65 or so. Much nicer than the simple jack in the car. I don't have jack-stands yet, but I plan to get those soon. I use it for tire changes only - oil changes are at a local shop.

Particularly the left tires, yes! The last time I had a flat, it was near enough home that I had my wife drive out in her car, park behind me, blinkers on, and give me some shelter. Low traffic luckily. Even then, some people came too damn close to me ...

I have told both my wife and daughter never to attempt a tire change on a busy roard. Better to drive slowly on a shoulder if there is one off the road, call 911 & request a police escort behind you with flashing lights, and drive on a flat tire. So what if you end up ruining a tire or even a rim.Too many accidents happen with drivers not paying attention and plowing into stopped vehicles on the side of high speed roads. Traffic here in NJ frequently moves at 80 MPH. Better to be safe than lose a life over a tire.
