what are the slots in the center console for?

Just got a new 2009 Altima sedan last week and when I open the center console under the armrest inside the big part on the front side are these 3 slots that almost look like something should attach to put change in. Am I missing that out of my car or is it for something else?

you misunderstood, im not talking about the slots where the cup holders are. Im talking about the slots inside the deep part of the armrest. It looks like something should clip on there to hold change but only the slots are there.

Its for change. You dont put the change flat, you do it at an angle. if you look closely you wil see that at the bottom of the slots the plastic is angled to hold the change.

Nothing clips in there to hold change. Change itself goes into those slots. Quarter, nickel and dime/penny size. Kinda crappy design by Nissan as when I put change in there, lots of time it falls out.

well I did just check and now I feel kinda dumb. I just didnt see how they could fit, but they do. I cant speak for how well they will STAY in, but them seem to be in pretty snug. Kinda cool now that I know lol. Thanks for the help all.

P.S. found out something else new, I cant just go in the garage and reach into the window to unlock the doors. The alarm went off and hopefully didnt wake up half the neighboorhood while I ran back in the house to get the remote lol.

Unless you keep that 12v slot closed in the storage bin... dont put any change in there, it just makes electrical shorts happen when a coin falls in

Ashtrays and Lighters dont come standard in cars anymore I dont think.... look for a "smokers package" that includes a dumb removable tray for a cupholder and a lighter...

I just stopped smoking recently (and im sticking to it this time surman!)...

The back seats leather looked like it had dandruff all over it... smoking kills!

I have a cut up empty water bottle I keep quarters and dimes in, then a little bag for nickels and pennies. Use the quarters and such when their needed. Then once the bag fills up I take it to the bank and get like $20
