What are the signs of an over revved engine?

I may have over revved my engine this weekend. I was at 6th gear doing 70 then dropped it to 3rd. Redlined and tried to shift from 3rd to 4th when I think I shifted to 2nd by accident. I am not really sure because sometimes when I shift really fast the transmission will kind of get stuck in half gear. It would be in gear, but I would not be going anywhere. I saw my shift light flash so I pressed on the clutch as fast as I can.

I just wanted to know what sounds if any I should look out for, to know if my engine was damaged. Car drove fine today...I did open my hood and noticed a sound coming from the right side of the engine. The sound is very faint and resembles a plastic bottle being hit. If you have any inputs it would be greatly appreciated.

I will be taking my car in for service next week.

Does the Z have a tattle box? If so you may end up paying for any damages.
