Thinking to buy a used g35 coupe. Earlier version of g35 seems to have some problems which later on corrected in 2005. Can anyone tell me what those problems are?

ThankS!

Welcome to NICO!!

Here is a quick synopsis for the coupe:

03/04 negatives: Brake dust problem. Tire feathering problem, early design of the VQ35-non REVup (The REVup went to variable intake/exhaust timing with better valve springs allowing the engine to increase max RPMs, making more HP), stereo deck has known issues 19" rims not offered, seat belt design sub-par, some engines have oil consumption problems, stock tires wear very fast.

03-04 positives: Baer brakes offered, cheaper to get into, different color options, good spoiler

05-07 negatives: Stock tires still wear fast, 06-07 went with smaller spoiler design, no Baer brake option, some oil consumption problems, seat belt design (05).

05-07 positives: REVup engine, better stereo deck design, 19" rims, larger standard brakes, seat belt design (06+)

You mean Brembo brake option

The '05+ also has a more appealing interior trim and steering wheel control that are illuminated.

Then in '06+, you have projector headlights and different tail lights.

Yeah I have experienced the CD deck problems and it is very annoying. Anything easy that can be done about that or is it a pretty big expense to fix?

The only solution is to take it to the dealer. You could send it to a clarion shop (do a bose search). Replacing it with aftermarket is expensive because you have to get a new console trim piece, bracket, AC controller. ($300 + the cost of the new deck/amp/speakers...)

What causes tire feathering? Is it incorrect camber? Don't the front wheels have neutral camber?
