Hey guys. I am trying to build my stanza to 300whp. I have a 5-speed transmission with 126K miles. At what power/torque level do the FWD KA24E transmission tend to fall apart? If my power goal is more than its limits, does anyone know of a reputable shop that deals with rebuilding these transmissions with stronger internals?

300whp is going to be fairly impractical especially on a FWD car like the Stanza. Torque steer, coupled with what is more than likely an open differential is going to suck. I say go with a straight T3 off a Z31 and 200-250whp should be awesome.

Oh, and I don't know the limits off the transmission itself, I just wanted to comment on how you should readjust your power goals....

A member called ultimatuc has a 300+whp 1st gen Altima. I know its DOHC, but maybe its the same transmission. Or maybe it can at least fit the SOHC in the Stanza.
