'90 SOHC - I thought you could remove the air resonator and some cut the bottom of the airbox?

I've been searching and can't find the thread anywhere. Found a couple of things concerning the DOHC thats about it.

Should I just remove the resonator? I was looking at the factory intake setup and if I remove that it seems I'll be almost cutting off its source of air...its kind of like a very mild mild form of ram air setup as it is... anyways you guys know what I'm talking about...

what resonator are you talking about? dude, nothing in life is free, and if your planning on ghettoing your intake box, seriously, you're better off leaving it as it is before you ruin something... like have your tb suck something up other than air...

Hey, fellow calgarian!

I think the best cheap thing to do is get a MAF adapter + K&N filter from MOPAC.

What the heck do you take me for? The filter will still be there. You think I was going to just leave a wide open intake tube sucking in raw air??

Many people on many different vehicles remove the intake silencer/resonator. If you honestly think theres no such thing as free mods you obviously haven't worked on enough cars. Not to flame, but you statment is not valid. What above removing your intake butterflies on a ka24de? It'll only cost you your time.

Anyways, Zig - hello there! They have adapters up there?? Going to Racecity this summer?

Hey no sweat man See, the tube that goes to the airbox has a secondary passage that basically goes down to a silencer box before it gets to the airbox.... I've read of people removing it but, they musta either completely took that tube out or plugged the secondary outlet

I'm going to check that local shop for an adapter.
