What is the effects of high mileage on a car.Specifically on the chasis. Also what should i replace.

If i get a high mileage car i wouldbuy a rebuild engine kit, springs and struts, bushing kit along with tension rods.

The list is innumerable. Think. Use logic. What is solid and what is not. What moves and what does not. What could possible wear out and what could not. The list is ENORMOUS of things that could possibly go wrong with a high mileage car. The most basics things will be shocks/springs/bushings/engine re-build (which alone is a hundred different prospective difficulties) failure of any accessory such as P/S or AC. Just think, this one isn't that hard if you use some logic.

Ummm...let me see i think i didn't get to the point does high mileage have any effect on the chasis itself. Does it compromise the cars rigidity and the such.

Oh yeah logic was the 2nd half of my first statement.

Do you mean the frame itself, the subframe, connection points? Think about it. And you should evaluate a car before you buy ANY parts for it, some will be good, some will not, something may be bad you didn't even think of. In short, ANYTHING on your car may be damaged or worn out by high mileage. The frame itself is not likely to be in any way damaged or worn, however in the event of a previous accident or the like this could be different. There are just too many variables involved, you should evaluate on a car by car basis.

The frame itself is what i meant by chasis(Frame). Nothing else.

So in any case i did think of it.
