Are they for anything? I was thinking they could be there to help air pass through when the car is moving. but usually dont u put a flap or something? ie when theres not alot of front airflow, the clutch fan will pull air more through the radiator?

anyone know?

A late reply but I have a possible answer. The A/C fan was on the left lower side. Sound logical? Also no flap because of the distance to the belts. I got to look how everything worked while it was all together in my front clip.

allows the ac fan to blow air thru the shrowd and dosent allow the clutch fan to pull cooler air thru, id think theres a flap missing from it tho!
