free mods. Advancing timing/make your own intake/remove all that uesless emissions crap(more of a visual mod but I hate it all)/and for sound id just remove the intake resonator.

The best bang for the buck I have come across is getting your motor fresh:Spark plugs/wirescap/rotoroil/coolant changePCV valve02 sensor

you can also do a custom short ram to the opposite side of the engine bay if you put the battery in the trunk. I did that and the sound from it was orgasmic. pep boys dude... little filter, 90 degree bend, short straight piece that can hook th eold lines up to it...http://viewmorepics.myspace.co...72738idk if that link will work but its a sweet set up itll sound sick even without an exhaust if u SEARCH more you'll find other people who have done this tooditch the injen they're mad $$$ and they dont even do as much as this short intake would do for less than a third of the priceif ur poor like me and 17 name brands are of no concern

one cheap, easy way to gain some power (or mileage, depending on your driving) is to add 2 - 3 oz of acetone per 10 gallons of gas. you can get acetone wherever paint supplies are sold, including autozone. this will clean up your fuel system very well, and it gives a little more umph. i have seen a noticeable difference in smoothness, idle, and acceleration.

note: i use it every time i fill up. when i don't, i notice it.

another thing that is cheap and easy is to put a small hose on your distributor cap vent, and run it into your manifold somewhere after the throttle body. this will suck out the ozone (o3) created by the arcing. O3 burns more readily than O2, thus slightly improving combustion efficiency.

note: if you do the ozone mod, it is necessary to drill a small hole in your dist. cap to let fresh air in. Otherwise, the vacuum created in the cap may pull oil from the crankcase. you dont want that.

i have performed both of these on my own 240, and i can say from experience that they both work well.

ps i found these from a mileage website called mpgresearch.com

One of the vacuum lines that goes to the PAIR system is a vacuum line.I'm tossing that so i could just use that one right?

Battery relocation and bend a pipe to the left side, then drill some holes where the battery tray is to let some air through. Rueben (-RJ-) did that to his S14 and it sounded pretty mean.

Price:Battery box: $15 at walmart14ft Jumper Cables: $25 at Autozone4 screws: 11 cents45 degree pvc pipe: $9 at AutozoneFilter : $20

About 70 dollars for a meaner sounding car and 5 hp lol XD

then you can do an eletric fan mod, thats virtualy free. Just rewire your eletric fan and remove that clutch fan. I heard it frees about 10hp (correct me if I'm wrong)

Oh and use Royal Purple Oil lol, 4 quarts of that is $26, that gives hp too.

depending on wat yr 240sx u have. say if you have a 95+ use the 91-94 model exhaust headers. Use the avi(i think thats wat its called) for the secondary o2 sensor, its a 4-2-1 compared to the 95+ 4-1 headers.

You can get a dry nitrous kit for about $100. I have not tried this on my 240SX yet, but on my Nissan truck KA24E, a 20hp shot brought the quarter mile from a pathetic 17.2 to a 15.7! Stock, I would barely get into 3rd gear and with nitrous I was at the top of 3rd going thru the traps. A 20hp shot will give you about 6 minutes of use and nitrous can cost anywhere from $25-$60 for a 10 lb. refill. If you need more "long lasting" mods, the timing bump and a ducting hose from the bottom of the front bumper to the bottom of the air box will work too. A clogged cat can make a dramatic difference in power.....nothing a punch can not take care of! Now I know a lot of people are like...oh its bad for the enviroment, but if your gas mileage goes up 5mpg then how bad is it really?

Ther should be a write up here on NICO for the N60/N62 wire up if you can't find it I will photo copy the the wiring diagram.Make sure that you have an ECU tune or an SAFC to use the N60 MAF.
