I am working on a buddy's 1990 Q and was wondering what the 2 little gray wires are that are part of the push button connector on the driver side power transistor? The problem is that the connector is broken and those 2 wires are no longer joined to it and have metal tabs on the end of each. I looked in the shop manual but couldn't find anything on it.

Does anybody know if those 2 wires could affect the firing of the sparkplugs on that side?

I went out to take a pic thinking you were asking about the wires to the unused black connector fastened on top of the igniter (pic-lower left). I see that you're asking about the two wires on the connector clip (pic-upper right).

Sorry I don't know what the wires are but the pic will may help jog the memories of the members sitting in their homes right now watching it snow.

I have found the problem with the hesitation. The car now belongs to my Mom and I mentioned in a previous post about the o2 sensors and that the problem cleared up after they were disconnected.

I don't suppose anyone here has yet to know what those 2 wires are for that are part of the tab that you push down to disconnect the connecters?
