what could be some symptoms of either a stuck open iacv or a stuck closed iacv....i ask this beacuse after about running my car for 10 minutes the idle bounce up and down from 400-900rpm. but for that first 10 minutes it idles like a champ at 850rpm. any ideas

Sounds like a potential for it. My S14 would physically die when the car was decelerating to a stop with clutch pushed. Sometimes while driving in a low gear and lower throttle setting it would stumble and feel like it had a fuel supply shortage. But your actual symptoms could vary a bit from mine.Hope this helps cheers!

I'd post pic of the dirty insides of the IACV if we didn't have to pay a subscription to do it now. Oh well

Clean your IACV--also look into the temp sender as it can cause the same symtom.

temp sender? do you mean the ECT engine coolant temp sensor?

No! Do a search he means the EGR temp sensor (I Think) which is mounted on the intake manifold to allow the ECU to determine when the EGR system is operating correctly, this doesn't really affect the performance of the vehicle if the temp sensor is faulty but it will trip the CEL, due to the emissions requirements for the functioning of your EGR system.
