Thread moved.

S chassis cars will suffer from chassis flex. If you have a sunroof car, the chassis will flex enough for the sunroof seals to rub the glass and cause creeking noise.

Rust.

M/C will leak and cause rust

Don't forget about the front oil seal.

Did Nissan change the design of the oil seal? When I changed mine the new seal had a little wire chord wrapped around it in a groove. The old one I pulled out didn't have it.

Oh, and edit: Since I chaged the front seal my oil leakage has gone from about 2 quarts a month to 1/2 quart a month. I suspect the oil pan seal this time, but not sure. I think I can live with that oil loss for now.

hatch seal, the seal around the tailights, sometimes the headlight rotors that pop'em, more rust, the center console, aparently power windows, stereo, speakers, spare(at least mine was rusted cause there was enoff water in the trunk to fill a bunch of glasses, previous owner error), i guess suspension, and other things common to 10+yr old cars.

Rust under the OEM spoiler.

Steering wheel starts pealing or whatever it's called. Anyway, it's annoying.

Automatic seatbelts stop working. I know, it's big loss....

Develops an odd smell in the interior.

They seem to be overly prone to being slid into things.

The little plastic actuator tab thingies in the turn signal switch and wiper switch snap off.

Idle goes bad.

windshield wiper bushing on passenger side wears out. i filled with goop and oiled and it seems to do the trick.

bad idle is just the iaa unit. just clean. other reasons, of course.

Quote »every DANG thing goes wrong with a 240sx! [/quote]That's about right. They tend to be old and not cared for well by the average owner. Many aren't very good project cars because they need more than just a few upgrades. Rather, they often need almost full restorations.

the auto seat belts are under a lifetime warrenty from Nissan for those with any s/b problems. rust around the front strut towers, trunk/gas door release cable breaking, wheel bearings, and just about everything stated above.
