Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, best console FPS, period.

Steel Battalion and Steel Battalion Line of Contact: best Xbox games. Period.

Fable. Great RPG, and you can do some entertaining stuff (the game keeps track of the farthest you've kicked a chicken, for example)

Second Sight. Not an amazing game, but still very fun. TPS (third person shooter, not throttle positioning sensor) with mind powers. Mmmm telekenesis.

If you have the cash ($150) get Steel Battalion. The game is amazing. And it looks as real as any game I've ever seen, if not more so. It's a seriously hardcore simulator, and it gets insanely difficult...but still fun.

This is the SB controller...and the reason it costs $150And, yes. The black and silver pedals are part of it.

Project Gotham Racing 2 is really good, especially if you've got Xbox Live. I also like Rallisport Challenge 2.

The original Sega GT game was good, if somewhat dated. The second one, even though it had Xbox Live capability and some new features...really sucked.

Forza Motorsports is coming out soon and looks like it could be a decent racing game. Keep in mind that PGR2, Rallisport Challenge 2 and Sega GT aren't really hardcore sim games.

i recently just picked up Need for Speed Underground 2. it's kept me busy for a while and i like it, it just has this kind of ricy edge to it. like neons and stickers. it also has a burnout3 demo on it which is pretty fun. i've been playing it for a LONG time and i['m still trying to get all the upgrades. you can even go to a dyno tuning mode and tune the car's turbo and ECU power curves to meet your preferences. you can also tune the suspension, downforce, brake pressures ad stuff like that. it's a pretty good game....but i only have spiderman and prject gotham racing to compare it to. project gotham racing is more like gran turismo for playstation. it's way more technical. spiderman is good and addicting for a couple weeks, but that's about it.

Me? That's not my stuff in the pic. I stole if from an SB forum site. But I do have the game. I'm not overly touchy about my games. As long as you keep away from my HL2 Collector's Edition, we'll all get along fine.

Naw...It's my car I'm touchy about.

Thanks guys for the input.

I currently own NFSU 2 for my computer...got it free.

I also own Sega GT for Xbox, haven't played it in forever.

I'll have to check out the rest of the games you suggested, and see if I really want to get playing video games again.

I played Metal of Honor. Great game until I got 3/4 of the way through it and it locked on this level everytime I loaded it. I returned it and got another copy, but that did the same thing . Never did finish the game but it was fun until that point.

I liked Morrowind and Shenmue 2, but those definitely don't qualify as driving or war games.

Just get Project Gotham 2 and Halo 2 and be done with it. Apex is also a neat racing game, albeit an unconventional one.

I'm touchy as hell about MY stuff, because people keep breaking it.... No one else in my house is allowed to touch the GT4 wheel now, and I've got most of my rare stuff locked away in the attic...

Halo2. And go Live.

I would disagree that Riddick is the best FPS. It's fun, no doubt, but there is a lot of waiting as you traverse from one area to the next and back again to complete all the sub-missions. Im not sure it's actually a FPS either....at least not all the time. I actually enjoyed the first Splinter Cell more. Riddick was a bit too linear for me(within each mission). Splinter Cell 2 is more linear than the original as well. Not that any of them have that much free form to it.

I'd play Riddick over Halo 2 any day of the week. In fact I'd play ANY game over Halo 2 any day of the week.

Halo 2's gameplay was buggy, predictable, and severely lacking in the fun department. And buggy. The buggiest production version game I have ever played. Buggier than many beta version games I have played. And most of the bugs are severe and can affect gameplay very adversely and prominently. If it wasn't for two or three of the major bugs in that game, I would have been able to use an entirely different strategy throughout the game. And the multiplayer is the most boring, unexciting multiplay of any FPS I have ever played. Nothing original, so simplistic, and so much of it is just plain broken. Maps are too small, vehicles don't really even work all that well in multiplay due to horrible balancing issues. There are glitches that allow you to do things like grab flags through walls. The dual weapon system (only 2 at once) destroys any fun to be had in multiplay, since you are constantly using the same weapons, or searching for better ones, so things either get repetitive and dull, or just frustrating, since the weapons are unbalanced and starting weapons can be difficult to survive with when up against rocket launchers and sniper rifles.

I'll never be able to figure out why everyone loves that game so much. There's nothing above average about it. And there are some huge drawbacks and issues with the game along with that...it's nothing special. I think maybe people are just afraid to admit it's not their favorite game, because it's so amazingly popular and "cool"...but who knows.

*>Halo 2. Rotting stinking three week old horse poo>Halo 2.

The two games are very different in their play styles, though. But they are both part of the "greatest hits collection" if I recall correctly.

I forgot about Morrowind. I had it on PC, and it was an amazing game. I never played the Xbox version, but I imagine it's about the same. Definitely another good one.

Project gotham can get insane. Very fun. There are quite a few good racing games for Xbox, and Forza comes out sometime this spring. The car lineup for Forza is just plain massive. It might even be better than GT4...but only time will tell.

I've never played Splinter Cell so I can't comment there. Looks well-done, though. It also looks like they may have focused too much on graphics and let gameplay slide, but as I said I haven't played it so I'm not sure.

Frontline is very fun. That lockup issue is something I've not heard about before...I personally wouldn't avoid the game just from that.

Another suggestion, aside from games, is to pick up a Logitech wireless controller. I bought one, not sure whether I'd regret the wireless purchase, and this controller is great. Much higher quality than the Controller S (not that it's not well built, too, but the Logitech one is even more so) and I've had it for three or four months and it's still on the first set of batteries. Only downside is that the communicator headset attaches to the corded transmitter, which attaches to the Xbox, with a cord that's not even a foot long.

I love emulators. I've got SNES, NES, and Game Gear (a comercial emulator with LEGAL ROMS!!! ) Came with the software bundleon my pocket PC. Of course, I don't really need the SNES one, as all my favorite SNES games are available for GBA now. I also have all those plus a Genesis emulator on my PC. And I have a REAL Sega 32x that WORKS! I've only got three games for it (Doom, Metal Head, and Primal Rage, 32 bit edition) No sega CD, though.

Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter is a decent FPS. Nothing groundbreaking but it's fun to play, looks good on the Xbox plus it has an element of space combat too.

Rainbow Six is great for multiplayer combat.

Splinter Cell was a little too slow for me - felt like you really wasted a lot of time sneaking around in shadows, I don't really have the patience for constant stealth.
