As most of you already know, I ask a lot of questions around here. I purchased this 2000 nissan pathfinder without a lick of car knowledge..I still do not know a whole lot, but with your guys help, I am learning.
I am a college student and do not have a huge income, but I would love to do a few minor upgrades to my pathfinder that will help make it look better aesthetically and pleasing to the eye.
Currently the front and rear bumper have some nicks and dings from drivers in parking lots hitting me and not leaving notes. I know that some places and somewhat repair them, but the ultimate fix is to replace the entire bumper, which just isn't worth it to me at the moment. (500-600 repair with paint).
Other than that, I have tried the HID lighting, to find out the the dealership said it was melting my wiring harness. I know that there are other ways around that, such as using a relay harness. So, I might give that another shot. Although, my dad is pretty fed up with me constantly replacing and messing with my lights. He doesn't really want me spending much more money. Wish I could prove him wrong, that HID lighting isn't a "bad" thing for the vehicle.
If you guys have any other recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear from you guys, and see pictures etc.
Also, links to the products or website that you purchased them from would be nice. That way I can see what all I need to buy, total cost, etc.
Right now here are a few things that I have in find for the car:
1) Fix any "not mechanically sound" part on the car.
2) Fix any dents, scratches etc on the paint.
3) Replace halogens with HID lighting.
4) Replace incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs.
5) Put a minor lift kit on the car.
6) Replace tires with larger tires that fill the wheel well better.
7) Work some on interior (replace floor mats, etc.)
8) One thing that I want the most, but am not sure I can afford. Put Magnaflow Dual Exhaust on the pathy.
So far, all I have done is plastidip the wheels, which actually looks pretty dang good. (Except when it rains and they get mud on the black).
That is the order, to some extent, that I would like to replace and work on my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder.
To give you guys an idea, the pathfinder is a Silver color.
Ill try and post some pictures later.
