Hi! I just got my Eibach Sportline springs and KYB AGX shocks. What are my safest setting points? I don't want my shocks getting blown.

I know my options are 4 in the front and 8 in the back. But how many choices do I have before risking damage to my shocks?

Thank you for your input.

Dan

The harder you set them the faster they will wear out... even on their hardest setting I'd expect 1 yr. out of them before they get to be a problem.

I'd run 3 in the front and 6 in the rear... 4 and 8 being the hardest.

I don't think the harder you set them, the faster they wear out... isnt it the other way around? Someone wanna confirm?

when it comes down to it it's about setting it right to match your springs... you don't want to underdamp or overdamp it... I'm still messing with my suspension also so I'm still learning too, but I think the suspenion FAQ covers some of this, and search always helps.

The faster you damp a coil's oscillations [or the stiffer the springs]the more heat is generated. The more heat, the faster the Nitrogen gas boils out the seals. The more heat the hotter the seals get and the faster they deteriorate.

Under or overdamped changes with shock temperature just like winter is too stiff and summer is too loose because the base viscosity changes alot from 0C to 100C.

Race car shocks are rebuild after every race.Street and highway shocks can last 60,000 miles if they are not exercised much.
