What are dust boots?

ok omg i feal so dumb... so they keep your struts clean right? are they entirely necessary/ do they help/are they worth it? thx buddies!

they're to keep little pieces of whatever from tearing the seals inside your strut.

Without them you run the risk of your strut rods being scored by rocks or other debris your tires throw up at them.

You don't NEED them, however. On my car they were all torn apart and so when I put on new struts I left them off and they're still ok.

yeah, rubber things that go on the struts, 25 bucks a piece for the fronts and 50 BUCKS A PIECE FOR THE REARS!!!! from nissan that is...

The KYB boots work fine for me. They're worth it to me @ $10-12 a piece. It's cheap insurance against a trashed shock.
