I need to replace the heater control lamps in my 95 hardbody pickup.Reverend d21 states in his instructions about this topic that the clamshell must be removed.I am ignorant Where is the clamshell located and how do you remove it?

Thanks, for your responce.A neighbor who also has this same pickup installed the lamp in the heater ac control using a pair of 90 degree needle nose pliers. The space is very limited so getting the lamp socket in place is a major job.The pliers were bought at Hobby Lobby.
Just to wrap this up, when I talked about the clam shell I was talking about the two plastic covers on the steering column between the steering wheel and the dash board. You don't need to remove the clam shell to do the HVAC lights but you will need to if you replace your gauge lights.
