What am i missing (93 240sx audio wiring)

ok nicoclub! i know you guru's know your stuff so heres my problem

i bought a 93 240sx (coupe but that doesnt matter for this) and it has the active speakers.

now when i got it, the guy had an alpine HU put in and alpine 4x6's in the fronts. this means that the front amps have been bypass right?

secondly, i bypassed the rear amp using the instructions on here by splicing the wires. went smoothly no problems

now as im wiring up my sub, i got power to the amp and sub, but no sound whatsoever

im thinking it has to do with the amp remote wire, but what about it? ive tried hooking it up to the blue/white amp turnon wire in the headunit but that doesnt work.

do you guys have any idea what else could be the problem? the amp definatly is getting power, it lights up and such. i rewired the sub in the box and everything so im **** out of ideas on what it could be

If your amp powers up then obviously the remote turn on is working. Did you run RCA's from the radio to the amp? If so, did you plug them into the SUB out? If so, did you turn the SUB out on? Some older Alpine radios need to have the SUB out turned on manually. Newer models come shipped with the SUB out on.

spot on with the deck needing to be messed with

turned the sub on cause it wasnt and it worked like a charm. thanks again man. i was tearing out my hair wondering why the hell it wasnt working but it was so simple=)
