Alrighty, I plan on buying my friends 93 vert sometime mid January. Im trying to help him out, cause hes been trying to sell this car for the past year, and we agreed on an extremely low low price lol.

But my plans are to do a 5spd swap, sr20 redtop swap, and body work.My buddies and I are working on this car, just a bunch on Honda guys. Honestly, we dont have a clue what we're doing. On an average, how long does it take to do the swaps, especially for noobs. I mean we have plenty of experience working with B or K series engines for Hondas, but the auto to manny is new to us and the nissan engines in general.

O yea this is where I think im gonna get the engine from. http://www.japanmotorimport.co...90-93Has anyone ever ordered from there before? So what do you think? Thanks a bunch!

sr20det comes with manual transmission. Don't buy stuff from Canada. If something goes wrong, it's a big hassle cuz it's an international transaction. Try this place, jhotimports.com They are nico sponsor and I've heard nothing but good things about their engines. I know a local guy doing a lot of engine swaps and he said he always buy engines from jhot and never had a single problem.

depends on what the swap comes with. are you going front mount? are you gonna go ahead and change clutch while doing transmission swap? the swap is pretty straight foward and i personally think its much easier than honda swaps. when i did my first swap i went ahead and bought the basic upgrades (bov, fmic, clutch, flywheel, downpipe, motor mounts) the swap is a direct replacement. you can use same motor mounts, radiator, ect. the hardest part for me was wiring. but, i was doing s13 sr into s14.

It really depends. You will have to do a thorough inspection of your engine when you receive it and take note of what's missing, needs to be replaced, etc.

Should a lot need to be done, you're better off making it a built motor rather than trying to get it run in stock form again. Not worth the time or money imo.
