Hey everybody i had a quick question, my car has 161,000 miles ( i drive a lot) they are all highway miles.....regardless i desperately need to change them seeing as how they are stock....so far i have shocks, struts, coil springs, and and the mounts......i know there is more to a suspension but being on a tight budget im not about to spend a lot more so do you think just changing them out with oem replacements will suffice.....and autozone has monroe and gabriel (sp) what do you guys think about those?

Thanks

Did you buy new springs? Why not just reuse the old ones? You have the top mount for the shocks right? Have you looked at your TC rods to see if the bushings are shot? That can cause lots of wheel wobble, especially when braking. Also, how are your control arm bushings? They can wear out and cause "clunking." Sway bar bushings are also something to look at if you've got body roll in the turns.

You need to read more and inspect your components individually for wear. Read the factory service manual or look at the diagrams of your suspension on courtesyparts.com

if all you're planning on doing is using the car as a dd, then yes, oem replacements will be fine. just make sure to get an alignment once you're done installing everything.

Monroe and Gabriel are decent names. Much cheaper than stock and reliable for daily driving. If you plan on doing any sort of racing with this, then this would be the perfect opportunity for upgrade. If just replacing to keep stock then a bushing kit would be a good idea, and polyurathane lasts alot longer than rubber, so, get a set of bushings. Make sure to check the subframe bushings, fr. and rr. Steering rack bushings, upper and lower front and rear control arm bushings. The sway bar bushings and end links, I could be here all day. Just make sure to check every last bushing and rubber insulator in the suspension. Replace as nessesary and it will feel great.

If upgrading, check out enjuku.com to get an idea of what is available. Good luck and like numbnuts says get an alignment when your all through.

i was looking on Autozones website for some parts and i came up with a total of roughly $760.00

Springs (Front) - $97.99 Springs (Rear) - $126.99 Shock/Strut - (Front Right) - $63.99 Shock/Strut - (Front Left) - $63.99 Shock/Strut - (Rear Right) - $61.99 Shock / Strut - (Rear Left) - $64.99 Strut Mount - (Front Right) - $63.99 Strut Mount - (Front Left) - $75.99 Strut Mount - (Rear) - $69.99 each

........these are their lowest prices.....so wouldnt it be better for me to just get an upgrade.....and no i dont intend on racing with this one its my dd

Thanks Everyone you guys have been a HUGE help :-)
