Hey guys and gals. Well after 23360 miles on my G, of only which I have put 7159 miles, my clutch has started slipping severly. I can still drive around town gingerly, but I need to replace it ASAP.

So what I need to know, is what are you all running/ where did you get it. Also, any cons to the setup you chose. I already know all the pros to a lighter flywheel, and better clutch disk and stronger preasure plate. I have used then for years in my Talon.

Thank you all in advance!

Guess I'm on my own for this one. I will let you know what I go with and the results.

Wait wait wait!!!

I've tried both the JWT flywheel and Stock clutch disk as well as the RPS Cyn-R-G and RPS Street Clutch.

From a purely performance standpoint, JWT won hands down. I can only attribute my high dyno numbers to it (273 rwhp with very light mods).

The RPS is quieter (low RPM take off and idle), but also seems to be a little slower. Not hugely, but a little. Chatter is less than the JWT, but the old Clutch was really worn which may have made a difference. RPS is hit and miss with chatter.

If you're interested in my JWT, I have it for sale in the classifieds. It's fully rebuildable with a replaceable friction surface. This means you actually never have to buy another flywheel if you don't want to.

I bought another one, because the dealer told me that my flywheel was beyond saving (thinking it was a normal, steel flywheel). When I got the RPS installed, the tech handed me the JWT and said that it was fully functional with a new friction surface.

Let me know if you'd like it. I could use the cash to make up for all of the unexpected Holiday cost (namely the oral surgery).

That is a good deal! I paid 750 for mine...the clutch is great but the trans chatters.

Thanks Joe. Does it sound about the same a stock clutch at idle if you haven't adjusted the clutch pedal?

HAHAHA! Sounds like a tractor trailer. I'm saying this with experience from my JWT which weighed about the same.

Ok so it will sound like a twin disk when the car is in neutral and the clutch is depressed. I can live w. that.

Again, assuming it sounds like my JWT (which it should). Moderate to heavy chatter while idling (neutral clutch engaged-pedal up).

Low RPM sounds just like a loaded Big Rig taking off.

Joe. Where did you get your clutch and flywheel from? There were some issues w/ the guys paypal that made me not want to buy from him. So I still need a clutch.

Well I installed my new Comp. Clutch and flywheel today. Took me 4 hrs start to finish. I couldn't believe how easy the trans comes out of these cars.

The old stock clutch was worn to the rivits on the outer most edge of the disk. The rivits had worn groves in the flywheel and pressure plate. I took so pics, but haven't loaded then to my pc yet.

The new flywheel weights about half of the stock dual mass. And I can tell the differance. The rpms climb and drop much faster.

As for the noise everyone was talking about. Well to me in neutral w. the clutch engauged, it sounds very much like stock. The only time I have heard any gear noise was when I was in too high of a gear for the slow speeds I was traveling.

I did notice that I need to adjust the clutch pedal back closer to stock. As the clutch engauges very close to the floor.

I can't wait until I have 300 miles on it so I can experince full throttle acceleration again.

I got mine from these guys: Forged Performance

Yes, it does have significant chatter...way more than OEM. I actually hold the clutch down all the time now to not listen to it. I don't care if that induces extra wear.

But...my god, what a clutch! She grips 10x better than OEM. I also don't have the clutch pedal sticking to the floor with high RPM launches anymore.
