What affects the ride comfort most? Is it the the shock or the spring?I had real old stock shocks with H&R springs. I threw in some koni yellows with the same springsthe ride comfort felt the same. I have replaced the front end bushings with new polyurethane ones and not much of a difference. What can I do to improve ride comfort. would getting Ground Control springs make a difference?

There's a lot you can do to improve ride comfort. Tires have a big thing to do with it, your seat does, the right spring strut combo. You have an LE so it is already made for comfort, stock suspension should be nice, though the 240 is a sports car of some sort so it isn't going to be the most comfortable to ride in.

Ok basically the spring holds the car up in the air which is called the Sag, and some springs are stiffer then others.

Inside the shock there are a series of very thin metal shims that work with the shock oil, the shocks responsible for how stiff it is when the whole assembly is compressed(hitting a bump or something) and how fast the shock shoots back up to the top position(called rebound). Its kinda hard to explain but i thought id give you a little lesson on that haha. But yeah, different strut, spring combo. The taller the shock, better comfort, the closest height to stock, better comfort. Softer springs, better comfort, non racing struts/springs/coilovers, better comfort

Also if you have big rims with low profile tires, that would do it to. Get some 15-16 inch rims with some tall rubber on there, kinda like stock tires, or i guess you could just get stock tires

Bushings help A LOT. My rear adjustable arms are all metal, versus the worn down 13 year old rubber that was in there. Hilariously enough, the metal bushings feel absolutely amazing, the ride is so much firmer and smoother. If you replace all your bushings in your car, not just the fronts, I guarantee you'll feel a difference.

Most people that want stock replacement bushings get the Energy Suspension kit.

How about reverting back to OEM suspension if you want it max comfort?

I've never ridden in a car with performance suspension that felt "100% comfortable." Even my CTS is a little bit rough because it has the factory performance setup.

I have, however, ridden in big boat cars like the Cadillac STS and similar luxury vehicles. My dad rented an STS when he and my mom were visiting me in AZ. We drove 2 hours up to Sedona to visit my grandpa. Smooth as silk!!!

a fat a**affects ride qualityto improve ride comfort, remove that fat a**

on a serious note. getting any kind of lowering spring, coilovers, etc. expect to lose some comfort.

id recommend the green tien s lowering springs if you want to get your car lowered without losing almost any ride quality.

This! Haha. I can't wait to see what going from 55 to 40 is going to do to me when I get new wheels.

put some air bags on your car, they actually ride pretty well if you have the car raised plus you can basicly drop your car on the ground when you get out of it too and take awesome pics of it low as crap. people on nico will wonder how your car is so low and at the same time you say it rides nice...lol.

I think it would be the shock but i'm not possitive but that would be my guess. Because the shock abosorbes some of the impact of bumps and non grated roads. your seat could have very minor affect but mostly it is all in suspention.
