when it comes to working with dealers - approach it like you would if you didn't have a trade in first. So you use one of the websites that puts your request for a quote to all the local dealers, then you wait for them to start contacting you. You tell the first place "I'm looking to order and I'm hoping to get $750 over invoice" or something along those lines. Then once you get a dealer to give you that, you play that offer off everyone who calls you after that and just say "I'm only interested if you can give me less than what I've already been offered."
ONLY start talking about the tradein when you have the offers you like. Then you can be like "Well I have a tradein and I'd like to have you evaluate it to make sure you can give me a good price." What sucks is that you'll obviously have to drive to the dealership to do this, but hopefully you've managed to get a couple places close to you down on the price first. Then you can start haggling tradein price. This will also help you with the delay because you can be like "well this dealership says they'll give me x for my tradein, but they won't gaurantee me that price when the coupe is delivered, so if you can do that, i'll order it here."
and so on.
