ok.......before everyone starts flamin' i still like the car, but man oh man it sure is almost out of the pasture replaced with a nissan maxima.....ok....here goes.....we find the exact model with all the options we want, only to have it in the shop for 3 weeks because of a bad valve in the heater core that was sticking which was causing a clicking noise with RPM's above 3k, and rear right door trim was slowly inching its way off of the window, got it back they ended up replacing the entire core and they probably super glued the trim down who knows? ok for the next biggest annoyance lately its been pretty warm so we have been using the a/c but i dont notice any water on the garage floor when i pull it in....so a few days go by and i see a "wet" spot on the floor behind the passenger seat, WTF? I wet vac about half a cup of water out of it, then set a microfiber rag on it over night, next day pull the rag out and it was dripping wet? i call the dealership and speak to my saleman that said when we bought the car he would check in from time to time, he has never called we have been the one to call him to ***** about what else is wrong with the car? now my question is or better yet what is everyones opinion, should i trade the damn thing in for another one, or give it to the dealership and drive around a loaner for who knows how long? or give up on it and get a maxima? which i have owned 2 with no such issues? anyway your opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

there's always a lemon in every bunch, buddy. i'm sorry to hear about your lemon, though. i'd return it to dealership for another one (that's what you said, right?). i'm sure it wouldn't happen again. if we all had those problems than we wouldn't have these AMAZING CARS!

Always frustrating but always a reality in the new car world...especially first year cars...they don't say to stay away from first model year cars for nothing...

But I totally feel for you...My advice, just get it all fixed while you're putting miles on a loaner...and then enjoy your low mileage new car with all the bugs worked out.

Good luck!

My first coupe (black) was a lemon, had it for 6 months and it honestly spent about 1.5 months, maybe more in the shop. Finally got rid of it and got a new one (white). New hasn't been in once for anything major, just headlight recall and then headlight adjustment.

Chad is right, there's always a lemon. It's summertime, you know what to do with lemons.

Awesome thread title BTW!

Well, technically 03 was the 2nd year for the G35, but that's academic. I was Motor Trand's Car of the Year in 2003, but as was said before, there's always that one STINKER in every batch.

Sorry to hear about your troubles...at least you don't need a new engine!

Back to your problem. Is the wet spot on the floor just water, or is it anti-freeze? To be clear, the water was on the garage floor, not in the car right? (Your post is a little vague) If its water on the garage floor, then I don't think there is a problem. The AC will drip water after being used...this is normal. If its water inside the car, then your HVAC system is the culprit.

I think he meant the water is inside the car.

My first car was a 1958 Ford with a police intercepter V8 engine. It would never start whenever it rained. After replacing plugs, points, condensor, coil, wires etc it still would not start in the rain. That was my first and last Ford

I feel your pain.

itsmywifesg35,

Let us know if you have an update. If you do have the 07, I would force the dealer to fix whatever problem you have. No excuse for them to not give you a decent loaner too!!

It's called lemon law for a reason, use it.

I concur, it's just a lemon. Infiniti is big on customer service (might require putting on your stern voice, as with most salesmen), but I'm sure they'll take care of any value you lost when you bought it, and trade it out for a new one. Biggest thing to remember: you're the victim, don't back down till you're satisfied with the results.

For example,

Friend of mine bought an '06 King Ranch F150. Within 20k miles, they had to drop the engine and rebuild parts of the lead cylinder. Definitely covered under lemon law. What'd he do.....ate the $10,000 he lost in value, and got an identical '07. Personally, I would have pushed till they let me trade for an '07 for no extra money. Definitely pursue it, whether you want to get rid of it, or fix it, make sure they hold up their end.

Good luck!

Thanks all for your insights into my "lemon" dealership finally called us back tonight, called them last Thursday, our salesman says he will drop off his car (07'g35x) because all of the dealerships loaners were out and all his drivers to pick the car up were booked so he personally is going to pick it up......if all the loaners are out does that sound like a problem, i know people need service too but when we bought the car back in May there was like 7 loaners all sitting there under the canopy....who knows maybe us telling him that we are going to trade it in for the 08 maxima and spread the word about how unhappy we have been with the car lit a fire under his arse.......will keep you all updated

about the nissan dealers i dont know man where i bought my titan they took care of me pretty good when i was having paint issues, i had them take it back in after i had it home about a week and noticed brown speckles all over it, they detailed it and did away with the spots and my folks were in town for a visit and i told them i needed a car to haul them around in so they let me take a car right off the lot brand spankin new SL maxima with all the bells and whistles......i got to take that thing clear to las vegas and back from SLC......anyway update on the G our salesman picks up our car gives us a loaner another 07 x type he calls the same day to tell us when they had replaced the heater core they probably forgot to reconnect the condensate hose.....dumb arses.......anyway they are replacing the entire carpet and said that they should have it back to us by friday 22. oh yeah get this he said that this has been the only car from their dealership that they have had to order anything for......just my luck i guess........... .....well we'll see if i get it back tomorrow........i need to post pics of it too, we went with 45 % tint all the way around, clear bra the whole front end including the mirrors and 20"alba remix rims with kumho ecsta tires it sits nice! deep dish about the width of a 100 dollar bill
