hey guysso i tried to change my light color by scraping off the orange part on the clustersso i didn' tknow how 2 discconnect the wires holding the clusters 2 the car so i just moved them aroudn to make space so I could take stuff apart.Big Mistake.

I scraped 1 part pretty well then put it back in 2 see how it was.It was good but my speed gauge got messed up so it wouldn't go up so i was taking it apart again.I was kinda rushing so i broke the plastic part right above the actual cluster,(its the kinda dark screen not attached to the dash that clips into the gauges)So I have to replace this part so any advice?

And second, my gauges are still messed up.To fix this, its just a matter of moving them to the correct position right?Any advice or pics of where the gauges are suppose 2 be before you turn on the car?

Please help Thanks

This is the wrong mod to be rushing with, if you don't have the time to dedicate to the project I would advise to hold off until you do have the time. I know too little too late but for anyone else who reads this it might save their cluster.

I have never heard of anyone just moving their needle back to fix it after messing it up like this, but I have had no experience with it so I don't know.

Maybe email Surman or wait until he sees this thread considering he does dash cluster mods.

I think how surman does it is that he does a "exchange" for the modded gauge for the OEM one. That way he has a OEM one to start fresh with . I'm sure Surman can fix your problem BUT it may cost you a little more now cuz now he has to fix your mistake I'll txt Mike and tell him there is a member in need! Stand by..

This is why you dont try to do this on your own... if you broke plastic pieces, you will need to get a whole gauge cluster to part yours together with (they dont sell the components indivudually).

Have surman buy you anothr cluster, then send him yours and the cash to get it done right!

If everybody had that attitude, than no new ideas would be formed.

I think that the lesson that should be learned here is not Don't try things on your own, but rather, Dont try things on your own that are above your skill level. And if you do, take your time.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

Remove the needle / start car - speed gauge is set to zero now / gently push needle back in at 0 position. Call Mike

I totally understand, but this isnt the mod to learn on... An Intake, sure! Strut brace, NO PROBLEM... But when dealing with things that pose a physical risk (phenom getting his hand caught in a spring) to something thats easily destroyed (a gauge cluster) sometimes its best to leave some of the advanced work to people who are comfortable with it!

I thought I was the cool guy and tried to help surman do my dashboard lights, and I pretty much ruined all the parts I touched.
