Replaced the Contis with some Cooper CTS4 Touring and the ride is so much smoother.

Stayed with the 185\65R\15 but did change to a T instead of an H as the Ts had an 80K threadware instead of the H's 60K. I figure 118MPH is faster than I will ever go anyway as it has only been up to 105MPH once.

Dropped down from an AA rating on traction to an A and temp is still A.

Good man going with the Cooper tires. I've always been fond of them. Had a set of Lifeliner SLE's on my GTI (215/50R17) and they were absolutely amazing in all weather conditions, including deep snow and ice.

When the Titan needs new treads, I'll be throwing on some Discoverer CTS's.

I'm checking out some General Altimax tires. They're cheap on tirerack.com but seem to be highly rated in wet/dry traction and smoothness. The treadlife isn't amazing but I don't drive it that much anyways.

Should have at least gone to a 205/60/15 tire. The difference is amazing. Agree the Comtis are junk. I unloaded mine for $150

General, IMO, are crap as well. That's what the Xterra's come with (atleast on the 2004 models). I only had 40k on them and the sidewalls were cracking really bad.

Ha, Just bought a 08 Xterra and the first thing I did was get rid of the General Grappers.

Cooper Lifeliners are crap too.

I'm going to disagree. Especially about the Lifeliner SLE, specifically.

I had 2 with big arse bubbles coming out of the sidewalls. Not my idea of quality control. Luckily my dealer quit carrying cPoopers and comped me with a set of BFG's. Never looked back.Lifeliner to me means your life is on the line and you're gonna lose, sorry.

I have been using Coopers for years and have never had a tire show any kind of defect.
