Just got my car back from the mechanic - feels like a whole new car!!! Pulls harded than ever and downshifts more quickly. Had the plenum pulled and all hoses replaced, valve cover gaskets, PS pump rebuilt (was starting to squeak). Now if I only had money left for a NICO ECU!

Congrats! It must be nice! What do you think contributed to the better downshifts? How much $$$ did all that set you back?

Just a bit over $2600 parts and labor. Not sure what's contributing to downshifts - maybe it's in my head? But definitely a BIG improvement in power. Have just about 140K and I don't know if the KS or plugs were ever replaced.

Did you have it done at the Infiniti Southbay? I need to replace my KS too, but didn't have time to spend 4-5 hours DIY. My injectors and plugs were replaced at 108K miles, cleaned my MAF and throttle body and BG44K to my fuel. Running smooth now.

Went to Japanese Auto - they are in Torrance on DelAmo near Western. A guy named Dan runs this shop. He's done quite a bit of G50 work. Very honest, does not charge for diagnosis. He'll let you bring your own parts but is pretty resonable with parts that he sells. Don't have the number right in front of me at the moment - will post later tonight/tomorrow AM.

Its amazing what our cars cost to keep running good. Hats off to your investment.

Each time I drop large coin on the Qs and they get better it makes me smile. When these cars are running right there is nothing like them. I had raw sex out yesterday and she is the finest automobile (to me) I've driven. After reading your post here I must ice her cake and do the transmission mount and exh. hangers---you've motivated me.

Congrats!!

As always I like to think about how much it was to purchase, then it does not feel so bad. Also note that once you fix/replace something, your good for a long time (unlike some German cars I've owned!).
