So I need to buy snow tires and I want to just get a set of 17 inch infiniti or nissan rims put the summer tires on those rims and use my origanal Q rims as the winter rims because they were pretty beat up by the last owner.I beleive the stock tires (summers/all season) are 225/50-17 and the rims are 17x7.5 +30 offset.

Any give me a list of nissan/infiniti 17x7.5 and an offset thats close and will work on my car?

thanks

the G35 and 350Z ones will work fine. Pretty much all the 5 bolt ones will.

Stay away from the newer (05 and up) M35/45 wheels, they're offset is too high.

G35 Sedan wheels will probably be your best bet ... and cheapest. I'm running a set of (F50) Q45 wheels, and other than being butt ugly brown, they work well. Offset on those may be a touch high (+40, I think), but with narrower winter tires, it shouldn't rub.

what about 17" nissan maxium wheels??I just thought the nissan name would bring less money than Infiniti.

Also I might have a lead on a set of 17" wheels off a 350z. (they are the guys winter tire set up not the stock wheels) the guy said the rims are all the same size, but the rear tires are a little bigger. Will those bolt right up?

Maxima wheels would likely have a higher offset, but not so much that (skinny) winter tires would rub.

Non-OEM 350Z wheels "may" have lower offset (25-ish), but (again) not so much and issue with the skinnier winter tires.

All this is assuming you're going to run somethign like a 225/55/17 winter tire.

Remember, skinnier winter tires are better.

I was going to run 225/50-17 (the stock size) for snows.

If the off set is less like 25 how will that effect the look/performace of the car? Tire Rubbing? would that happen going from the stock offset of 30 to 25 with the stock size tires??

How can I tell what the off set is on a set of rims anyways??

thanks

I think that Nissan and Infiniti rims have both the size and the offset stamped on the inside of the wheel, so anyone sellng a set can look inside the wheel and tell you.

That's a good size for snow tires. The skinnier the better ... to a point. You just don't want the tires sittign on top of the snow.

Lower offset (especially on a wider wheel) will have "everything" sitting farther out. With "snow widths" it's unlikely even a 25 offset would create any fender rubbing issues.

Any "decent" wheel should have the offset stamped on the wheel/hub somewhere. Look for an oval with a stamped value or the letters ET with a number next to them. Oddly enough, it's easier to find the number if you "know" what a realistic value is.

The OEM 2003 M45 wheels (18x7.5 with a 35mm offset) should work very well!

You can put a 245/45-18 tire on it for a good result.

Will work, but a 245/45-18 has more of a tire selection available. On my 2003 M45, I use Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245/45-18 with a 100W load index.

The second one is too wide for a 7.5" rim. Very unsafe!

What is the load index shown on the side of the tire?
