Recently after parking my 92 Q, I noticed water dripping into the passenger footwell. I'm assuming its some kind of condensation from the A/C. Any thoughts? Easy cheap fix, or some big problem with the system?

I am betting a blocked drain from the air mixer case that holds your evaporator coil.

It could be a worn out seal around your front windshield. I had that happen before or it could be what Maxnix said.

Check for condensation dripping near the firewall. If you've been running the A/C and there isn't any, the drain line is blocked. You can clean it with something flexible - I've used a peice of copper wiring. Be careful not to use anything too rigid, like a screwdriver - at least aggressively. I had an evaporator destroyed on my truck this way (before I bought it).

if it builds up and sloshes around then it's probably the AC drain.

These are prone to plug is most types of cars. It's a small line designed to let water out, but not a bunch of air. Since it's wet alot a little scum can grow in there and seal it shut over time

Yeah, I'm 99% sure its the A/C, it only happens when I run it. I took the glove box and black cover out behind it, but I have no idea where the drain line is. Looking through the service manual couldn't find it there either. Anybody messed with this on a Q before or should I just take it in? Thanks for the help.

It could also be the sunroof, I went through all you are doing only to find out I needed new sunroof rail assbly. And there are drains in the sunroof assbly that become blocked with crud. I would fool around with a hose to make sure that isn't it. Passenger footwell was where mine was coming in. Perfectly dry now. Be careful when testing to make sure you test with the car in an uphill and downhill position. Mine would only leak when the front of the car was downhill becouse my sealing problem was at the front of the sunroof. Park it with the front uphill and it stayed dry, matter of fact that is what I did for a few months until I located a used sunroof assbly.

You have to go under the car to check the drain, it's above the passenger side cat.

So unless your car has been in a horrific accident, there are a couple of drains to check :-)

Sunroof problems with leaking are not limited to just the drains, although obviously that is the first hing to check, but can also bedue to sealing problems due to breakage of some of the mechanism that pulls the roof down tight (my problem) or the sealing surfaces themselves are bad. I learned that sunroofs in 90-93s are one of those problematic areas like trannys, the roof motors go bad also and the roofs start not to open and close correctly on the rails, causing scratching on the top painted surface. None of this stuff has anything to do with being in an accident. It just goes bad over time.
