The rest of the country has seen gas prices fall while they've risen on the west coast. Apparently its due to a refinery bottleneck.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Motorists across most of the country have been getting a break on the price of gas, but not on the West Coast.

The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Oregon was $4.17 Monday, up 16 cents from last week. The average was $4.20 in Washington state and $4.35 in California. Both of those states also had double-digit increases.

I paid $3.40 yesterday in Manchester, Missouri.

There's a really cool set of articles in Popular Mechanics this month detailing the route oil travels to reach refineries and retailers as well as the fracking taking place in North Dakota.

There aren't too many great things I can say about the part of the country I live in, but at least it's centered right in the green zone...

East Coast needs to come down a bit!

In Connecticut its a little over $4.00 per gallon. I was forced to stop at a gas station coming out of JFK in New York...I paid over $5.00

I probably shouldn't be complaining, as CA has it the worst.

Last month's issue had a story on how to restore an old car's interior, which happened to feature a Saab 900 hatchback. It was neat seeing them do the cheap fixes and enhancements that I had done.

We are going to CA this summer for vacation. Considering we are going to be in the Frontier, if kinda makes me wish we could stuff all 5 of us into one of the Insights. :chuckle:
