I think it looks like an unmarked police car now. The new rims are gonna have to grow on me.

Exactly.

I can and will fix the center cap issue, just have to find some "matching" bronze/brown paint. I'll also look for some way to strip the paint of the rims.

Suprisingly, the size (225/55 versus the 245/45 before) seems to be a much smoother/softer ride??

Nice Q, but I can't say I'm too crazy about the rims. This is Wes's new Q? I think it's a good replacement for the Wessymoblie.

Nope, this is my Q, same as the one in my sig, but with new rims. I got them off ebay in May. They looked more of a bright/bronze color in the auction, they aren't . It was hard to turn them down as they with like new quality tires were about $200-$300 less than slightly lesser replacement tires for my current rims would have been.

We'll see what I ultimately do.

I can't say anything about Wes' replacement proceedings .

Rex, keep the old rims. Those are much nicer. Real classy. Nope, put those back on E-bay and buy some new tires for the old rims. They look much nicer. That's my opinion.

Some of the 240 guys like the gunmetal/bronze look. Try offering them to that crowd.

I really think they'd look good (centers painted to match of course) on an IPQ Q.

Now if I only knew someone with some big nasty chrome 18's that he'd trade me even up, but if he wanted to throw in some cash or, an S13 'vert, I'd let him.

Ok, I'll stop the dillusional rambling now .

They don't look that bad IMO. If I were you though, I'd probably have them powder coated or painted black. Painting would be easy... just sand off the original paint, clean, paint, gloss, done! Black rims on a black Q with nice black tint like that would like pretty stellar IMO.

my vote is for all black on the rims as to me it would be more stealthy in appearance.....but then again you might have some wise a$$ say it looks like the old "night rider" trans am mobile.

I like them. I think they look good on your car, especially at sunset.Try to take some pics at sunset and post again. I guarantee your car will look stunning, all the people in this forum will drool over your car.

Oh...and smaller picture would be better for overall look, I think.

I vote ALL BLACK as well.

There's your solution, especially if you take off your rotors, hit the rotor hat with some high-heat silver and the calipers with some Brembo gold paint... Sexy!

I agree, I powder coat black would look good.

Those rims look descent. They might look a little better is they were shinier. In the pictures, they seem really dull.

If you want to clean the paint off, look into media blasting/bead blasting -dont blast the bead area. It's cheaper than you think and is a nice start to a really nice job. Can't find the file for the best paint use yet, from Canada, a two part urethane for trucks and boats. Wears like Iron/Bulletproof.

I intentionaly took the pics with littel to no direct sun light as to not bring attention to the super cool non-matching black centers .

If I do any color change I'd first have to strip them, so I'll see. For now, I'm thinking get some super glue-y summer tires for the others and more winter biased for these. That would mean I have some 15" BBS's for sale.

17" winter tires, that sounds just wrong.

No need to strip them.

The OEM coating is likely a quality powder-coat, which will just require scuffing and a good degreasing with some brake cleaner.

There is a very good quality BLACK epoxy paint available IN RATTLECANS at Home Depot.

Prep them right and lay about 8 thin coats of black epoxy on those badboys!

AZ, I was under the impression that these had been painted, and from the looks if they're factory coated, Infiniti would be ashamed.

Overall I like it. I think the color hit's off the pin-stripe, so that kinda ties it all in IMO.

The rims themself are classic simple which i like, the color is, hmmmmmm, not so agreeable. I'd like to see them re-finished. It reminds me of the color of my dash and seatbacks, It's been 6mos and i still can't dig it.
