Ive seen a few different sites list timing chain kits for $216 but there are like a million that all look the same and I dont like just picking a company at random. so where did you buy your OEM kit from?

Nice way to post whore. And yes, I understand that this is also an instance of post-whoring.......but the blatant nature of your information regurgitation is worth pointing out.

troll postwhoring is NOT ALLOWED. You need to read over the rules here at nico.

Ahhh....touche!

I don't think it's possible to make an "e" with the slash over it.

LOL...back on the subject (yes, there was one). I got some timing parts from Midway and everything worked out great.

One thing to consider is, do you really need a "kit" per se? I worked on my upper chain. I looked at the cam sprockets and the chain, and since I couldn't find any wear, I didn't replace them. My upper tensioner was worn, so I replaced it.

I need to drop my oil pan to do some other stuff, so I'll most likely replace the lower guards and tensioner.

My point is, is it really worth while to buy a kit containing parts that may, or may not be worn or damaged? IMO, if you can afford to have the car off the road a bit, it's easier to take a look at your engine and find out which components are in need of replacement.
