Cheap is not always best. Cheap breaks easily, and sometimes doesn't fit right. Welcome to the NICO were breakdanceing isnt just a hobby. It's a way of life! :batman

Body Kits = Gay (IMHO at least)

Spend your money fixing the no doubt apparent maintenance issues and getting it running to full spec, then you can worry about something like a ricey body kit. Your 240 with a stock KA isn't fast at all, not even close, and doesn't deserve to look fast.

95% of us NICO members don't give a damn about body kits and are very performance oriented. If you're looking for a forum to talk about wings and kits and LED washer nozzles, go to a Honda forum.

Also, whenever you have a sentence with "cheapest" you are usually asking for trouble. Quality is key, it's essential, you can't be without it. Trust me. I know it's fun to do $15 modifications, but it's not worth it in the long run. Read, research, use logic, and make a car you can be proud of, not ashamed of in the presence of your peers or superiors.

Well thanks for the WARM welcome. I am also planing to do some engine mods but nothing big at all. Mabye an intake exhaust and I don't know what else is good for this car. Thanks fo the replies and I hope that sticking around here will give me knowledge about this car. By the way I didn't know Nissan is made by Honda. (This is why I am not at the Honda forum)

Welcome aboard! The link that Repo Man provided is pretty darn extensive, and should give you some good ideas/insight. If you haven't quite found info on what you're looking for, try running a search on "carbon fiber hood", "body kits", etc. ... or whatever name brand kit interests you. You should be able to find several discussions about the latest kits/body pieces this way.

Cheapest price often means cheap quality, so use extreme caution. You usually do get what you pay for. Good luck with the project, and be sure to keep us updated with pics, feedback on what parts you buy, etc.

I am not really sure why you would expect a warm welcome. NICO has a reputation as a very elitest forum that is not kind to new members. Its only because the powers that be are trying to change that reputation that you have gotten any sort of helpful post.

we are very protective of our cars, the last thing any of us would like to see is a 240 with an unpainted ill-fitting body kit.. with some (overall useless) cosmetic engine 'upgrades'

I hope that you use the info we have given you to find a good quality kit that you like.

I also hope that hanging around here you will get to learn something about our cars strengths and weaknesses and you will change your plans.

Cyber, I'm not sure where you got that impression, but it's untrue. Matter of fact, those who would abuse n00bs had best tread lightly, as it will NOT be tolerated.

Titus, contact some of our advertisers, and the links that Repo provided. Welcome to NICO, and enjoy your stay here.

It seems NICO will go the way of the ricer world if we allow things like this to continue, lets hope we don't see a Nissan ricer revolution. Before I could count on NICO to give direct, performance oriented, no bull crap answers, and a continual distaste for anything remotely rice. I can't tell you how many people I've seen with a body kit that looks HORRIBLE and say "I've got cold air and exhaust, what do you mean no performance upgrades!". I guess it's up to our moderators, but I for one IMPLORE limiting junk like this. I mean cmon, a moderator even put up a big sticky just so we wouldn't get this kind of question.........

Agreed.

trpower, it's a good thing everyone doesn't feel that way. What you might consider distasteful may be pleasing to othrs. Just answer the man's question in a professional manner or don't say anything at all. Phil (SmithSR) did a great job above....

EBay is always good for cheap bodykits. But I would strongly recommend against getting any kind of cheap bodykit. If you do though, just don't tell us all about it or you'll be flamed some more. Welcome to the boards and try not to let some of the more hostile members get to you.

A new guy asks a question about a body kit and you think NICO is going to ricer heaven? Do you think the CIA killed Kennedy too? :rolleyes

Hardly, I speak of greater trends involving a wide scope of posts, issues, observations, and deductions. And it isn't just a question about body kits, you must examine further, take note of all aspects of the question, of the situation, of the issues, of the decisions.

PS: It's the guy on the grassy knoll, whoever that was.....CIA or otherwise.......

Interesting.

Considering I'm an Admin who's been around a few years, and this has ALWAYS been my style, I disagree.

Just because you may have read a thread recently that says otherwise doesn't make it true.

NICO admins and mods have not and will not tolerate abusing members based upon their perceived knowledge of the subject matter. Misinformation will be corrected immediately, and every effort will be made to make new people feel comfortabe here, while encouraging them to utilize the SEARCH feature and to read old posts.

I adamantly agree with Greg aka Azhitman. He states our policy well.

I'll reiterate:

The man asks a question, then you have 4 choices:a) if you dont know the answer+ you dont answerb) if u dont know the answer post and wish a welcomec) you know the answer but choose not to post anything.d) you know the answer and give it and wish welcome.

Fred..:icesangel:

PS: your still da man trp:peace:

Titus...I think Injen makes a CAI for the 240sx...try running a search (red button, top corner of screen) for it and you should come up with a lot of results...a keyword such as Injen would work. OR, you could do what I like doing, make it yourself, it's not all that hard and you can make a great cold air partition for it if you want to take the time. oh, and it doesnt HAVE to look like crap either.

I'm going to be looking for a ground effects kit sometime later on, something not loud at all. I don't think theres anything wrong with body kits on certain cars, as long as its done tastefully.

The reason for me wanting side skirts more than anything, is to cover up the barbaric rocker panel repair I'm going to do on my 240sx. It'll get the job done, just won't look very pretty :)
