well i went to new england dragway today. got refused by tech at first becuase of chips in my windsheild. so i had to go to a local napa and get an apoxy windsheild repair kit to fix it. once that was done i could race.

so i enter the staging lanes at about 1:00 pm and sat there waiting for almost 2 hours before i finally got to race. there was crazy amounts of cars, and a bunch of spills and brekages on the track that took time to clean up.

so i get to the starting, light turns greena and i gun it. and all i get is friggin grinding from my transmission. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. im not sure whats wrong with the transmission but its forked. the ride home wasnt too fun either. car vibrates like a ***** when i take my foot off the gas.

anyways, heres how i didr/t: .87560': 2.477333: 6.6281/8: 9.735mph: 82.831000: 12.3241/4: 14.435mph: 107.97please keep in mind this was my very first time racing, ever, lol.

i was going to try a second run, but my transmission wasnt sounding too good and i had to drive my car 2 hours home. so i didnt want anything breaking.

i was a little dispapointed in my time, but there wasnt much i could do cuz of the transmission. however, my trap speed was pretty good i guess considering it was a 14.4 run. oh yeah, that run was done at like 10-11 psi

well, give me thoughts, comments, suggestions, whatever.

That sucks about your transmission, but your trap speeds are really good.

107mph trap speed is very very good. thats higher then a E46 M3, stock LS1's and rivals stock Vettes and M5's. its a low 13 second car trap speed.

Great traps.

What are you doing for engine/transmission mounts? I used to grind a lot too, but I think it was just from crappy stock mounts allowing too much movement...

same here, since i have put in my solid metal engine and transmission mounts i have not missed one gear while racing. not exactly the same as grinding but jsut a point. if yours are weak fill them up with window glue

once you get that launch down you will be low 13's

every .1 sec off your 60' is .2 sec off your et

some good tires will help alot

Is the car grinding the whole time you are moving? Or just when you shift?

Sucks man, all that work getting out to the track, a 2 hour drive and its nothing but problems. I guess just think of this as your shake-down run. Next time will be much better.

Doublecheck those transmission mounts too!

*cough* I happen to have a 1997 transmission with only 80k on it for sale.... *cough emailme cough*
