well after a short day at the shop preping the car for test and tune we made the first track apperance ever with my car. showed up at 6pm left at 9pm got in 4 runs. the first run was the best of the day, and it just got slower as it went, but my trap speeds went up... i also did not drive i let my friend drive. i wanted to spectate what my car could do.. next time ill probably drive and see what i cant get out of it.

made these runs on mismatched used tires i bought down the street. full air pressure prob 35-50psi, on the first run coil overs set full stiff rear, full soft front. then half stiff in the rear and full soft in the front the rest of the runs.

i was car 132

second or third run

these were the fastest runs, the others were 13.6828 and 14.4878

Shocks should have been set softer IMHO, and those tire pressures were WAY to high.

Regardless, a 12.9 is nothing to scoff at. Definatly a quick little street car.

im pretty happy, i had about 5 phone calls within 5mins of my car making the first pass, word was out around the city fast that i just broke into the 12s. i need to get into the mid 12s and trap over 110mph then ill be the fastest 240 in the city with the smallest motor, the Sr guy down the street is a little sour right now

i think im goin out next week, and lower the tire pressure to 20 or so and try and get some practice at launching. also might up the boost another pound or so. i gota get the wideband on it this weekend to make sure we are still running safe A/Fs. i would really like to throw on my 550s and z32 and base tune it for 18-20 psi and try for even better times, but i wont have time for a while.

First of all, I'm suprised that your track is still open. What are the temperatures like there right now? Mine closed down before I got the car back together and tuned, so I've got to either drive to OK or wait till next year.

I'm looking for the same "title" you are. AFAIK, my only competetion right now is an S14 w/an S14 SR w/bolt-ons. I've never seen him run, but he's supposed to be in the upper 12's as well.

Doesn't it kill you when you have parts laying around and no time to put them on? Man I hate that...

from what i know of drag racing, you had your suspension backwards, you want full soft setting on the rears and if you can, raise it up a bit, and have the rear tire pressure just a bit soft so that you can get a good squat at launch, then the fronts on a mediumish settingand having at least matched rears will help

But that won't affect the et at all

I think your biggest problem is using used mismatched tires Get some real tires or DR's on there and you'll have a better ET

you know that instruction manual they give with it??? well if you dont follow that it will break...

who would have thought you really needed to actually do figure 8s to break it in??? i guess the guys who build them huh...

oh well only about 900$ down the drain... im ordering a rebuild kit this winter cause welded diff is ok for a temp fix but its not as nice as a two way!

what's with those reaction times, are you reading a book at the tree? Overall times aren't bad though.

mods are

Cp pistons264 Camsstock injectorsKa24e Maf

and yes its the EVOIII big16G, to run the turbo on the CA you have to have a custom manifold, which i make with a custom o2housing. i also had to grind off an alignment pin on the exhaust housing to clock the turbo properly, and had to make a wastegate actuator that fit. HKS modified to look kinda like a DSM one.

check out my other thread not quite stock anymore. i have some pictures of my manifold and O2housing.

LOL, I didn't even notice that till you mentioned it. Late launch and mad wheelspin?
