Well I was a little dissappointed but considering the conditions it wasn't bad. To start of there was a cold front coming through and the tracks positioning made it a head wind with gusts up to 30mph and the track was cold. On top of that my clutch was slipping and I couldn't get traction in first on poor traction in second.First run:Reaction: .538660 ft: 2.43491/4 mi: 15.3152@ 92.18

Second run:Reaction: .418060 ft: 2.35081/4 mi: 15.347@ 91.65 mph

Last run, the clutch was getting ready to fry itself:Reaction: .1324(red lighted)60ft: 2.7672 (ouch!)1/4 mi: 15.8153@ 92.14

Could have gotten in to the high 14's if it wasn't for the wind, clutch and poor traction. But I did notice in my burn out that both tires lit up so I am thinking I might have a vlsd, does anyone know how to tell?I have a real crappy camera phone video I will post up tonight.

On another note the main reason we went out to the track was to run a new tune on this car http://www.gtspec.com/index.php?nav=article&id=30 the first pass generated a 10.9 with the driver letting off at the end because the car was getting enough fuel, so we re-did the tune to give him more fuel and on the second pass he snapped a rear axle! breaking stuff is never fun but it kind of is when you can claim you have so much power it snaps like a tooth pick

Looks like a 98 SE, you have VLSD.

Get some better tires and swap that clutch man. Those 60' times are KILLING you. A standard 60 time is 1.6 or so. Which drops you into the mid 14's. Not to mention the amount of power the car is losing at peak torque cause the clutch is slipping. Nitto 245's will fit on stock rims, definitly worth the money.

Ya the next on my agenda is the clutch as far as the tires go I have 2,000 mile old Bridgestone Potenza RE01 Pole Positions on it right now, so when I wear those down I will try those Nitto's. Unless, I decide to buy some new rims

How much boost ru running. Your mph seems inconsistent w/ your 60ft. times. 1.6 to 1.9 is drag radial land. 1.9 to 2.1ish is good street tire land. Your times are stock tire land.

im running 6psi, but my clutch was slipping and my tires, although are great tires, aren't the best for drag racing.

not to change subjects, but, does anyone know how much a clutch job usually costs? it's not that i doubt my ability to do it, i just don't have the equipment or the time right now.

So true . what i meant was that 2.5 second 60ft would me pretty decent power + stock tires but once it hooks up he should be hitting at least 94-95 mph.

Basically, around here they run high 14s-15s n/a with boltons. Guy should be doing low to mid 14s easy..

A clutch job ballpark runs around 300ish last time I checked like 4years ago. I think that also includes resurfacing flywheel possibly.

yea i had to re-read this thread to make sure u were actually ka-t cuz those times are pretty shabby. the wind must've been like a hurricane and those 60 ft times didn't help. you should running very low 14's with any sort of boost on the KA. unless your pull a bunch of timing, those times should be faster. i guess try again at another track or when they prep the track and see what u run.................

i'm planning on going again, but i would like to get the clutch done before hand because it is slipping even with gentle driving around town. plus i am going to go when the weather is good.
