Went to the track for the first time in the G 1/4 mile time!

I went to the track last night in Commerce Georgia. I got about 8 runs in before it started to rain and it was around 87 degrees at 6:30 to 8: p.m. My best run was a 14.455, I really thoght I would post better times but the track was so slick I was unable to even launch the car. I had to just ease off the clutch at about 600 rpm's and floor it. I would even spin when I went into 2nd and 3rd. It was almost like driving in the rain. I just bought the car and would like to get some pointers if anyone has some? I thknk I would have been better off in an auto - no spin?

I have a 03 sedan 6spd with a greddy mid pipe and muffler, other than that its stock. The tires on the car really suck, they are Hankook Ventus V4. The tread wear is like 420, you think this is my problem?

Traction is EVERYTHING in drag racing!! With better tires, I'm sure you could drop .5 sec to put you in the high 13s.
