I went out to woodburn dragstrip today with my 1990 FB. I hit a best of [email protected]. The car is basically stock with just intake and exhaust for the go fast mods. I had a total of 8 runs. The times were; 15.546,15.573,15.696, 15.809, 15.852, 15.514, 15.721, and a total worse of 19.621, my clutch wouldn't catch into third so I just let off and hit the brakes.

not bad, that's what Integra GS-Rs get around stock and mildly modified civics get, so those times are decent. I actually like woodburn track, way better than seattle's dragstrip, but I still haven't tried PIR yet.

oh yeah switch your rims out, I bet you could get a flat 15 maybe, or even high 14s with a different wheel setup and some mild weight reduction (like spare tire, jack, etc.)

I ran that time on my 15's. The tires on my 17's are gone. The 17's are actually better than my 15's. I always had better 60' times with them. I absolutly HATE PIR. It's a very fun track to do road racing, but not drag racing. I usually always pull GSR's, and most civics, but their are a few civics around here that run anywhere between low 14's to mid 12's N/A, so I have my work cut out for me.

it's rather cheap (nowadays at least) to get civics to do 14secs,13s and even 12's with the right chasis/engine setup. I don't know, after driving the 240, I really prefer driving an FR than a front wheel car now.

Just curious but does anybody have some real world times for a DOHC auto? I'm just asking because I"m trying to buy a clean 240 coupe and all the 5spd car are full of rust. Therefore I may have to settle for an auto and swap to 5spd when I drop in the SR20DET.:(

I'm shifting at redline, it shows 6700 on the tach. I'm not sure what the elevation is at the track.

I would suggest try shifting a little lower and see if it improves your times. At 6700rpm the motor doesnt make any power, try shifting a few hundred rpm lower to keep it closer to the power band. Just a thought.

I've ran a couple of times shifting at 6K and I really didn't see any difference in the times, only MPH. When I shift at 6700 my MPH stays around 89-90, when I shift lower, I hit 87-88. You also have to keep in mind, I have a SOHC. I have seen a couple of other 240's out at woodburn and they were DOHC with I/H/E and they were hitting mid 16's at only 84mph, I tried to talk to one of them but he was pissed and just left. I think a stock auto DOHC would hit mid/low 16's stock, but I'm not really sure.

hopefully if a stock auto DOHC would hit mid/low 16's, i'd be low/flat 16. i have Injen CAI, and by the time i go race i might have my exaust. i don't know, but hopefully i'd be around those times. i'd be very satisfied with my car if it got those times.

im suprised you get better times shifting at redline. try shifting at like 6300 and see what happens. if i run all the way to redline (6000rpm) in my stang i wont see over 14.8@94mph, but if i shift at 5000 i run consistant 14.30's & 14.40's all day long. at nothing lower than 97.5 mph. My DOHC really didnt breath too well above 6k, it just kind of fell on its face.

95silviase: how do you like the +4's? I hated them and went back to NGK's.

For those with slushboxes like mine, I ran a 16.3 on almost bald tires which spun a little through first. I'll dig up my timeslip if anyone wants to know my 60'. I figured that wasn't too bad with 90,000 miles and only a HS Intake and Apex'i N1.

unnhhh! I really glad that living in the 16's will be a short term thing. Well hopefully short term. SR20DET 5spd here I come! When I actually swap I've decided not to tell all my friends. I'll just challenge them to a big $$$ race and clean up.......gotta pay for the car somehow :D
