Honestly, I think that's a market GM/Chevy isn't interested in. Ford's got a sort of a niche with the GT...something no one else has...an american supercar. You can argue that the Viper is in the same class, but I don't see it as that. The Viper is a muscle car. The GT's a Ferrari killer. And a damn sexy one, too. I've been having fun in GTA:SA running from the cops in my Ford GT ("Bullet"). It's a near-perfect model of the car. The only thing wrong is that the engine is so damn quiet.
Chevy doesn't really need a car in that spot. They've got their own niche...the Corvette. A much different niche, yes, but no other American auto maker builds a car in that class. And before anyone says it: NO! The Mustink is NOT in the 'Vette's class. It's it's own thing as well...at least, until the Camaro comes back.
