Well I wanted to head out to the 1/4 mile track this weekend, but they weren't open for public racing...so I drove 15 min to the local 1/8 mile track and paid $10 for Test N Tune night.

Not what I expected to run...but then again, I didn't really know what to expect

Best run was a 8.9 @ 79mph. I was struggling for traction (lack of track prep) and best 60ft I could manage all night was a 2.15

Did beat a Z28 and a Ford Lightning while I was there though

Here's my best timeslip of the night...

So what do you think you will run at the 1/4mile track? Was the z28 a LT-1 or LS1?

NIce...that 60' is pretty good. I'd say approximately low 13s(+, -) in the 1/4. Did you decrease the tire pressure in the rear?

It was an LS1 Z28

And I didn't play with the tire pressure at all. Still running the recommended 40psi.

Hopefully next time we'll go as a group. I'll probably gut the car from the rear seats back and play with the tire pressure. Take vids too

Do get it on film. That'd be great. About the Z28....how about an LS1 or LS6 in an s-chassis instead(?) because solid axles suck.lol j/kI love F-body SS Camaro.

Very nice short shifter. I've been missing the feel of my Prelude shifter ever since I got the 240. But now they feel very similar. Short, precise throws and a rock solid feel.

well, i have a couple things to say. 1. im a huge s13 240sx fan, but an overal 240 so rock on with the SR'd 240. i'd be happy with such a fast car. (im gonna CA mine to get it around there, but hopefully a bit faster) 2. I'm not a honda hater unlike some of the people on these forums, and i particularly like the prelude, and lemme tell you, that is one SWEET lookin' prelude you had back then. -overall impressive, keep it up (and good luck with that suspension.)

Thanks for all the kind words.

The Prelude was a great car. I learned real quick that it was really going to take some big money to make it a fast car in the straights, so I focused mostly on making it a canyon carver.

Now that I have the 240, I have some of that pure, brute force that I was missing in the 'lude Hopefully I'll have my suspension together within the next 3-4 weeks, depending on how long it takes SPL to get my parts together

since when was 40 psi recommended? check your door pillar, not the tire.

Well there's nothing in my doorjamb/pillar the states a recommended tire pressure. The tire states a max of 45 psi, so I was told 40psi would be a good pressure, since lower pressures would accelerate tire wear. Seeing that I drive close to 100 miles back and forth to work daily, I chose to run the above tire pressure.

too high pressures will wear out your tires faster in the middle. i think the recommended pressure is 32 psi, but if you want to run 40, you are more than welcome to.

As long as your tires are wearing correctly then there's not problem. I ran 40 in Kumho Ecstas on my Z3 for years. The higher pressures will give a lot less sidewall flex but they'll be a little bouncier.

that's the max pressure for that tire, not what's recommended for the car.
