The service guy looked up my VIN and everything, and nothing came up about any recalls. He asked me where I heard about this recall, so I told him I read it on the forum. So then he was like, "Oh usually people on the forums find this stuff out before us. All of us at the dealerships are always the last people to find out about this stuff, which really sucks for Nissan owners." He said they will probably get that info next month or so. So he got my contact info and will keep me posted if anything's up.

Anybody else go into the service department to see what's up with that recall one of the members posted?

I haven't taken my car in for any recall work, but I know my passenger airbag bugs out sometimes

does this happen when you have something sitting in the passenger seat? like a bookbag, or groceries or something? if so, that's normal... the airbag is supposed to be disengaged when the sensor senses a small weight in the passenger seat... i.e. if a baby seat was there, the airbag should turn off... although this is normal, I do know there was a recall about the passenger side airbags a while back...

Ya I know it turns off when there is a light weight on the seat, for safety reasons. But every once in while (doesn't really happen anymore or I just don't notice it), sometimes it will tell me the airbag is off, then a couple seconds later airbag is back on. With nothing on the seat

my airbag will shut off when I have a passanger. The nissan dealership just told me its the way the person in sitting. That is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. They just dont want to replace the sensor. He said that the senor is in a bad spot.

i actually called nissans 800 number and the rep told me thats its only certain 2009 models. it depends on the actual spot your vehicle was made at. If anyone knows any better feel free to correct me but thats what i got out of the call.

I called, mine isn't affected. They said I would get a letter in the mail ASAP if it was. Until then the dealer is not touching my car lol. They'll be like "Well your suspension warranty is void, your electrical system warranty is void, your headlights are void, and so on" f*** warranty. lol.

My 2008 has been in for both the squeeky brake and airbag sensor recall, with no problems. They weren't impacting my car but I had them taken care of anyway just incase.

I've had my passenger airbag sensor turn off when I've had people sitting in the seat..that "sitting wrong" bulls*** is such a lame excuse. I think the dealerships should be required to join forums like this one to keep themselves updated XD
