During a "tech day" at my house yesterday (swapping a SR into an S13 hatch), one of the guys took me for a ride in his new 300Z. Awesome car, and beautifully detailed...

Says, "I wanna show you something even cooler" - we pull up to his house, and his mom has a spankin' new black C6 in the garage, which we take for a ride.

All I can say is, Chevy FINALLY builds a car worthy of the "supercar" title.

What a phenomenal change from the previous-generation 'Vettes....

Was it a Z51?

I'd love to take a C6 for a spin. I've been in the driver's seat, but only in display cars at dealers and carshows. I love the looks...combines the best of 'Vette and Pininfarina styling in one car.

I think my only gripe is the starter deal. I'm the kind of guy who's happier with good old moving parts and mechanical bits. It can't be hard to hijack the car's signal and start it up. Seems like it's mostly disadvantages to me...battery's to keep new in the transceiver keyfob, easier car theft, more components, so more to break.

I've always been a 'Vette guy, but never so much as now. Just wait for the Z06.

I sat in one the other day at the dealer. (They wouldn't let us test drive it obviously, without a credit check first).

But anyway, you can bet that if I had $50k, it would belong to Chevy. I sure as hell wouldn't waste that money on a 10 yr old GTR....atleast not knowing that I could have a C6 for roughly the same price. That car is pure sex.

They're not a bad car at all. I hope to have a chance to drive a Z06 when they come out. I agree that its nice to see them finally build a high performance balanced vette. The C5 was blah and the C4 was garbage. Atleast the C5 Z06 was quick. Only problem is that vette of all generations are as common as mustangs around me. Owning one here wouldn't make you unique....it would make you a number.

LOL - neither. We were good boys.

400 miles on the Z, and 800 miles on the C6.

Ahhh, responsible adult and all, huh?

So, the fit/finish was nicer than the Vette's you've seen before? Did it track well with out loosening your kidney stones?
