so my cars been running great lately but today when I went around a sharp right turn the car started bucking and running like crap. Once at idle it started surging between 1-2k rpm. The car wouldn't go past about 2k rpm so I had to ease the gas and was able to limp home and shut it off. I checked for a code and it gave a 55. Seems to be driving ok now. Any ideas what's going on?? Had about a quarter tank of gas..

blew out IC coupler or problem with your MAF/MAF Wiring? Have you pressure tested your IC piping?

thanks for the reply. Pressure tested the system about a month and a half ago, everything was good but i'll be sure to do that tomorrow since I still got the kit in my car. Went outside and just took a look at the couplers and they looked good. I do remember my maf wiring had a wire protector that was a little bit melted so that possibly could be the problem. If there is wiring that is melted, is it ok to cut out the exposed part of the wire and splice in a new wire the same thickness?? What's a proper way to test the maf?

Best way to test the maf is to replace it with one that works. You can also measure the signal voltage at idle and wot, it should be around 1v at idle and >=4<=5v at wot. There are specs for idle and 2500rpm in the FSM.

Pressure test first I bet you have a leak somewhere... If there were a problem with your MAF wiring you would have a code for it, but if the maf itself is having problems you don't usually get a code.

Could be other stuff too but might as well start with the basic...
