I get back home tonight after dropping my date off at her place in Isla Vista, and see this dangling from my bumper:

I didn't hit anything or run anything over, though it was broken when I bought the car, but now I just have a hole there. Oh well, another item on the list of crap I need to get done.

Now off to bed, 5:00am comes all too soon.

Sounds like you should fasten your gun more securely to the undercarriage.

Holy crap!Exact same thing happened to me on the weekend just gone! (5 days ago)Same side of car too.

Fixed mine up right away.Drilled a couple holes in the indicator frame, and used my No 1. tool ( cable ties ) to help hold it in place

OK, maybe I'm missing something here...

You found a complete lamp assembly, an unloaded 9MM pistol (with magazine and spare round), a bottle of Mobil motor oil, a pair of insulated screwdrivers and what appears to be a large bottle of Pace Picante Sauce hanging under your vehicle?

Yea, same thing happened to me last month. Mine dangle so much that it hit the ground and broke the lens. The tabs were broken. You have to get a new housing. It cost me with the lens about $150 from Joe. See if they'll sell it without the lens.

Actually its just a red bowl with some oranges in it, no salsa! That was the only clear counter space I had, the gun is usually under my bed loaded, but my date (and hell, most everyone who comes over) isn't totally comfortable with it, so out it comes when someone is over.

Needless to say, I was not happy when I saw that dangling from my bumper. I really could have found all that behind the lamp though, theres a good amount of fairly protected space back there, at least it seemed so at 11:30 last night.

The same thing happened to me with my Mercedes C124. One day I went for a drive and when I got out of the car, the blinker was gone. Turns out there is a tab in the back that locks it into place and in my case, it wasn't secure and so it flew off of my car and then I had to buy a new light. I couldn't find a match for my E-Code light (Euro) at the dealer so I had to order it from Europe. The regular lights (DOT) they have in NA for MB are awful, so I ended up ordering a set of clear Hella blinkers for the front and a set of Euro smoked/red tail lights. Made the car look so much better.

It was.....The mounting tab broke off, and I don't trust Loctite THAT much....It only has 1 screw holding the whole assembly in place, via that tab....
