just today for no reason at all the trunk release dosent work in the carthe trunk opens with the keyfob but the button is brokenthis wouldent bother me at all exept i cant use the keyfob while the car is running!i dont know if this is even worth taking to a dealership to look at it

Check the switch in the glove box.

i didnt touch it and it stopped working but ill try once i get back from Ukraine i already parked the car behind my gate and tied down the car cover with a bunch of rope and locked it off to the frame lol in my neighborhood someone would still jump a 10 foot fence and rip all the rope to steal a $70 dollar car cover

ok so the switch in the glove box was on and it didnt work but i hit it back and forth a few times and now it doesi think there is an electrical connection thats not connected fully but ill leave it as is unless another problem ocures thanks for the help

Yeah, it's just to disable the truck release in valet situations.

Depending on the type of switch this is one item that may need to be wiped every so often as it is little used. The same goes for window switches that are not used often. For example I find that the rear driver's side window in various sedans have exhibited problems like this.

I recommend that if you have this issue that you consider every once in a while just exercise the switch.
