Lol, some of you might remember the thread I made a while ago about some of my KA-t issues. It was stated that spark plugs might have an effect on a crappy idle, among many other issues.

My setup is a T3/T4OE 50 trim with an A/R of 0.63 on 3 psi8:1 FMUStock TimingStock 270cc injectorsEbay FMICOptima redtop battery relocated to rear of car.

It's a pretty basic setup. No vacuum leaks or boost leaks. EGR is capped off. I double checked quite a few things, but even still, I have a few issues.

I replaced the spark plugs to NGK bkr5e11s and gapped them all to 0.035 inches. Low and behold, the car actually started right up after sitting in the cold and beign covered in ice. It also held a steady idle of about 1k rpms.

The only issues was, that the engine was still shaking in its mounts and sounded like a go kart. The exhaust smelled slightly rich, but looked normal.I'll see if I can get a short sound clip of how the engine sounds when it idles and such, but I am really eginning to wonder what could cause it to run like it is.

I'm really starting to think that one of my injectors is bad. It sounds like a put put put at idle, when I rev the car a little bit, its quite delayed before it revs up. It's not the O2 or MAF, I can't find any leaks.

Hrmm, how can I verify this? I've heard of a few crude ways, but I'd like to make sure. I'd like to avoid breaking the clips on the fuel injectors since it's FRREZING outside, lol.

My first guess was injector as well.

First of all you should be able to pull the plugs and play the 'who doesnt belong' game like on sesame street.

Or

Easier way would be to pull injector clips off one at a time and see which one doesn't affect the idle is the injector that is bad/leaking.

I was thiking about doing that same scenerio, but pulling the spark plugs instead of the injector clips. I'm worried about breaking some of the clips since it is cold outside.

That's one of my concerns, but since it would only be idling and tested for a short period of time, then I think I wouldn't have to worry about hydrolock, etc.

The cylinder that does not effect the idle when the plug is pulled will be the culprit for the faulty injector.

Yep! it seems like I'll need to order myself another set of stock injectors. I'll post up in WTB shortly.

Ouch, lol. Eh, It seems that it might be harder to find a set of stockers compared to higher flowing set. It's a lot easier to find 440 or 370s, but I'd have to invest in an SAFC and a Wideband. As of now I have an FMU, so anythign like larger injectors is just in the future. As of now I'm kind of tight on cash.

I saw tons of threads in which some gys offered to get rid of their stockers for aywhere between 10 and 30 bucks shipped......what happened to all of them anyway?!?
