I couldn't get any info on the guides being switched out or not but i decided to roll the dice anyway.(I'm leaning towards them being original) Am i better to order the parts from the infinity dealer or would I be ok with the kit from performancevh. more important is to get it opened up and replace the plastic guides if they are still there. look for signs of chew on the oil pump housing and don't forget to change that guide as well.
replace crank seal in the lower front cover.
don't forget to achieve 270 lb-ft on the crank bolt when you put it back together. I cannot stress that enough. you may well fix it only to lose the engine to low/no oil pressure when the friction fit pump drive sprocket isn't locked to the crank.

I wonder if their timing kit is the OEM parts, I'd be surprised to find out that there was enough demand for them to build an aftermarket part. The usual shortcut is to not replace the cam chains, just the oil pump chain. This is accomplished by zip tying them in place while you r&r the guides. My go to online parts source these days is www.orderinfinitiparts.com

Thanks brother, someone else told me that they were most likely oem parts repackaged. Did you replace your chains or did you go the zip tie route. I would imagine labor would go way up if I were to switch out the chains.

The zip ties are for holding the chain in place while you replace the guides. Example pictures below.

Here's a picture of the oil pump chain and guide.

You want to position the chains and timing marks to top dead center and mark the chains and sprockets to maintain a point of reference during the job.

Here's how I secured the crankshaft while torquing up the crankshaft pulley bolt in the picture below.
