Well guys I know I don't post very much but I lurk all the time. I was planning on starting to look for a G in July but wanted to wait until October for incentives/rebates on 08's. Long story short my 01 Passat is a piece and I sink $1500 plus a year on it just to keep it running. Guess what happned last week, yup died again. After sinking $1300 into it just to get it running and all of the engine codes cleared up I decided to trade it in before the turbo blew or the timing belt went.

The new ride is a G35x w/ prem and nav in platnum. I went in to the delearship planning on buying a G35x w/ prem and sport in slate blue. The delearship would not take anything lower then $900 over invoice for the sport and said they would sell any non sport model for invoice. I kinda thought it was a bluff so I said ok I'll take one w/ prem and nav since I did not want the Tech package. My color choices were black, red or silver. Black (IMO) looks the best but way to hard to keep up w/ a 3 and 5 year old with bikes and scooters around all the time. I don't like red much on cars so silver it was. Ended up getting it for $18 over invoice. For the price difference I think Nav is worth more then the sport package. And with the 2.9% financing I don't think I could have done much better. Still kinda wish I would have got the Slate Blue but the only way to get it without paying over invoice would have to just get the premium package and I didn't just because I think you get so much with the navigation package.

Sorry for the long post, just kind of excited about the whole deal since I have been looking at buying the car for over a year now.

Welcome to NICO So instead of fixing your car, you're probably going to get in the habit of modding your car And yes lets see some pictures!

Welcome aboard. I think your color choice will hold its value better than slate blue, if that matters to you.

Coupe or sedan?

NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Another X man.

ehehehehehe

Welcome to the happier side of the world.

I suggest to take your wrenches away. But don't put it too far. You'll need a few of them to install your mods. But that's when you feel like it not like your reliable well engeneered German piece once a month .

Anyways welcome to Nico again. Remember we are a click away from you. Just in case you need some info.

Nice job on the ride, and welcome...

I only took a few days to pick this out... If I had it over, I would've got the coupe... I guess it pays to be patient... I just had to get one!

You will love your new car... There's little complaining around this site, except for the "what do you hate about your G" thread!

Post up some pics man... I really like the silver on the new body styles...

Thanks for all the reply's. It is the sedan. It has been very hard to keep off the gas. I finally switched the MPG reader off because I got tired of looking at 12mpg. But it sounds and drives so good.

I will get some pics up in the next few days. No real mods planned. Looking at some tint and maybe some DVD players in the headrests for the kids but thats about it.Ray
